THE NAZAREAN MAGNA CARTA In YAHSHUA’S Name “Liberation from sin and the powers of darkness”
"THE NEW TESTAMENT"
Testifies to the Name of Salvation
Rev. Steve Marlowe, M. Div.
There must be a clear distinction between the personal name of the Savior and thedescriptive names found in the Bible. According to the apostle Peter’s testimony, there is only one name given under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), however, in the world there are several names given that supposedly are His names, but according to the New Testament, there is only one name revealed by which we must be saved. The following names do not come from God, such as Jesus, a name that has only existed since the 17th century. The name Jesus has been added to the Bible in the year 1628 AD, and before Jesus, it was Iesus, a Latin name found in the 1611 English King James Version of the Bible, which comes from the Greek name Iesous, which is a transliteration of the Aramaic name Yeshua. Despite the counterfeit names and based on in-depth study, the true name of the Savior has been found. And the descriptive names such as Emmanuel and Nazarean.
In the Gospel According to Matthew, there are two to three names mentioned at the time of the Savior’s birth. According to the New Testament, there is only one personal name given from heaven. In the New Testament are names attributed to Christ. We, the Nazarean Ministry of YAHSHUA, will present the true revealed name of the Savior nowrestored, as we read, “Now the birth of YAHSHUA the Messiah was as follows: After His mother, Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her betrothed husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name YAHSHUA, for He will save His people from their sins.’ So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: ‘Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel,’ which is translated, ‘God with us’” (Matthew 1:18-23). Emmanuel is not His personal name, however, it is a descriptive name. There seems to be another descriptive name by which He would be known by Nazareth: reading further, “But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea instead of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned by God in a dream, he turned aside into the region of Galilee. And he came and dwelt in a small town called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, ‘He shall be called a ‘Nazarean’” (Matthew 2:22-23).
Many scholars, who also hold to the traditions of men, have criticized the name of YAHSHUA as being a philological impossibility. Philology is the branch of knowledge that deals with the structure, historical development, and relationships of a language or languages. Based on this definition, we, as Nazareans, would have to agree, however,only on the basis of the obscurity of the true name of Christ, which is due to the fact that the name of God was hidden from the Gentiles deliberately since the Babylonian invasion of the kingdom of Judah. And from that time to the time of the Christ, the name (YAH) was forbidden, as shown in Acts 4:13-20, “Now (the Jewish religious leaders of the council of the Sanhedrin) when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with YAHSHUA. And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, saying, ‘What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a notable miracle has been done through them is evident to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it. But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name.’ So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of YAHSHUA. But Peter and John answered and said to them, ‘Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.’” The Jewish leaders recognized the name of God, the very name of YAH in His name. We know from the New Testament there is no other name (Acts 4:12), and that He has “the name which is above every name” (Philippians 2:9), which is the revealed name YAH given to Moses (Exodus 3:13-15). It should be noted that within a generation and soon after the first century the church demographicwent from mostly Jews to mostly Gentiles. And unfortunately the church was becoming more antisemitic. This sentiment against most things Jewish allowed for the name to be transliterated from Hebrew to Greek cause the counterfeit name Iesous. The Gentile church was removing all connection to its Jewish roots.
Within the New Testament, the name of YAHSHUA is revealed as the Savior’s personal name, and the only name by which we must be saved. And the descriptive names of “Emmanuel” and “Nazarean” are not personal names. It is in the personal name of YAHSHUA we find salvation, “And in His name the Gentiles will hope” (Matthew 12:21). All those who come preaching the gospel in the name of YAHSHUA are blessed. “Hosanna to the Son of David; Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD {YAHWEH}; hosanna in the highest!” The Savior has been given the name which is above every name {YAH}. And the Savior said, as found in Matthew 23:39, “...for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’” After all, the angel Gabriel commanded Mary to call her Son YAHSHUA,and we read, “Then the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name YAHSHUA’” (Luke 1:30-31). This was a commandment from the LORD via the angel Gabriel. “And when eight days were completed for the circumcision of the Child, His name was called YAHSHUA, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb” (Luke 2:21). The importance of knowing the revealed name of the Messiah for our redemption is absolutely crucial, “and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem” (Luke 24:47).
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:12-13). “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:16-18). “But these are written that you may believe that YAHSHUA is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name” (John 20:31).
Knowing the name of the Savior is essential, for it is written, “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’ Men of Israel, hear these words: YAHSHUA of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know” (Acts 2:20-22). The early church baptized only in the name of YAHSHUA, “Then Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of YAHSHUA the Messiah for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.’ And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, ‘Be saved from this perverse generation!’” (Acts 2:38-40). Knowing the revealed name from heaven, and to be baptized in the name of YAHSHUA, the very name of the Savior will save us because we believe in His name by faith and by faith we baptize. The apostle Peter testified, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). We know that God never revealed the names: Jesus, Gesu, Iesus, Isa, or Iesous, or any other linguistically regurgitated name, and all are counterfeit names because thesenames exist as a result of linguist evolution. To the priests, ministers, preachers and teachers who deny the name YAHSHUA consider this warning: If you will not hear, and if you will not take it to heart, to give glory to My name,” Says the Lord of hosts, “I will send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have cursed them already, because you do not take it to heart (Malachi 2:2). Another warning to consider “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14). In the spirit of Psalm 150, “Praise YAH” you people!
The apostle Paul was chosen by the Lord to preach the gospel in the name of YAHSHUA. He was a Pharisee, who acted as a persecutor of the followers of YAHSHUA. Ananias, a disciple, was fearful to meet Paul, “But the Lord said to him, ‘Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake’” (Acts 9:15-16). Again, it is by the name of YAHSHUA that we, who believe on His name, receive salvation, for this name was given to Him by His God and Father. “And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead. To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins” (Acts 10:42-43). The Lord YAHsaid, “‘After this I will return and will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will set it up; So that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, Says the Lord {YAH} who does all these things.’ Known to God from eternity are all His works” (Acts 15:16-18). “And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord” (Acts 22:16). The apostle Paul spoke boldly in the name of YAHSHUA, so much so, that the high priest Ananias said of him, “For we have found this man a plague, a creator of dissension among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazareans” (Acts 24:5).
In Romans 10:8-15, we read, “But what does it say? ‘The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’ (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord YAHSHUA and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, ‘Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.’ For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!’”
YAHSHUA is the true name of the Savior because His name has “the name which is above every name,” as found in the expression: “Halleluyah,” “Praise YAH.” YAH is the name which is above every name. Shua in Hebrew means “My help,” as in “my salvation.” YAH and SHUA combined represent the meaning and true revealed name of the Savior. There is no other name (Acts 4:12). No matter what language one may speak, one must conform to this name of salvation, the very name YAHSHUA! Because the name Jesus was never revealed by God and has only been in the Bible since the 17thcentury, we will use the revealed name of YAHSHUA. Listen to the testimony of the apostle Paul: “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of YAHSHUA every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that YAHSHUA the Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11). The apostle Paul knew very well that the Messiah has “the name which is above every name” {YAH} because he heard it. He gave this testimony to king Agrippa, “While thus occupied, as I journeyed to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests, at midday, O king, along the road I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who journeyed with me. And when we all had fallen to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me and saying in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ So I said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And He said, ‘I am YAHSHUA, whom you are persecuting. But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you. I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn themfrom darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me’ (Acts 26:12-18). The apostle Paul heard the name YAHSHUA!
We know, as scholars acknowledge, the name YAH, which means “the I AM” (HaYAH), and this consonantal Yod/Hey with the vowel of “a” called in Hebrew “Qamets” was revealed to Moses, and transliterated to us correctly in English as “YAH.” “Then Moses said to God, ‘Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them? And God said to Moses, “HAYAH ASHAR HAYAH” (“I AM WHO I AM”).And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM {YAH} has sent me to you.’ Moreover God said to Moses, ‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations’” (Exodus 3:13-15). The essential name of God is YAH, I AM, and this name is to be His memorial name to all generations. YAH, this is the name which is above every name,and every language and tongue is to know this one and only revealed name. Just as the apostle Paul heard on the road to Damascus the very revealed name of YAHSHUA. The apostle Paul wrote to the church at Philippi, “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of YAHSHUAevery knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that YAHSHUA the Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11). There is only one name given for our salvation, the name “YAHSHUA!” The only God of the Bible is Christ, the LORD, who is YAH. Remember the Scriptures, for, “No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him” (John 1:18).Therefore, Moses never heard or spoke to the Father, but he beheld the Son, the only God of Israel.
If you do not believe that Christ, the Messiah, has been given all things, and He alone spoke to Moses, and that He, our Redeemer, is YAH, then you know not the Bible. YAHSHUA said, “And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form” (John 5:37). In John 5:38-47, we read, “But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe. You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. I do not receive honor from men. But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you. I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name (JESUS), him you will receive. How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that alone comes from the only God? Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you—Moses, in whom you trust. For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?” How can you say that you believe in the Messiah when you do not know who He truly is? Accordingly, God speaks of things as they are, but mankind speaks according to their traditions. While YAHSHUA was in Jerusalem, “Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, ‘Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders...?”
He answered and said to them, ‘Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:
‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men…’ He said to them, ‘All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition’” (Mark 7:5-9).
Let us remember what Jude, the brother of the Lord YAHSHUA said in his epistle to the saints, “Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord YAHSHUA the Christ” (Jude 3-4). Now that we know that the gospel is delivered once to the saints, and it is not to be altered, changed, or transformed, and even so that includes His revealed name, “YAHSHUA.” “For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister” (Hebrews 6:10). “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name” (Hebrews 13:15).
“If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.” (1 Peter 4:14). “And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son YAHSHUA the Messiah and love one another, as He gave us commandment. Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us” (1 John 3:23-24). “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God” (1 John 5:13).
Before Abraham Was, I AM {YAH}
“And He (YAHSHUA) said to them, ‘You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I AM {YAH}, you will die in your sins” (John 8:23-24). This is what He meant by, “...for if you you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins,” in that He is YAH, the very God of Israel. In the Greek language, it is stated, “If you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins,” but the translation into English states: “...for if you do not believe that I AM He, you will die in your sins,” which as you can see the “He” in italics shows that the “He” was added to the text.
“Then the Jews answered and said to Him, ‘Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?’
YAHSHUA answered, ‘I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me. And I do not seek My own glory; there is One who seeks and judges. Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.’
Then the Jews said to Him, ‘Now we know that You have a demon! Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, ‘If anyone keeps My word he shall never taste death.’ Are You greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets are dead. Who do You make Yourself out to be?’
YAHSHUA answered, ‘If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your God. Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word. Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.’
Then the Jews said to Him, ‘You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?’
YAHSHUA said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.’Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but YAHSHUA hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by” (John 8:48-59). The ramifications of what He said to them was clear to Jews. He claimed to be YAH, the very God who spoke to Moses. He claimed to have a preexistence in that Abraham saw His day. He claimed to be the only Man, the very Son of God, the Messiah, who knows the Father, the all in all God. YAHSHUA is the redeemer of Israel, and to all who believe on His name, who died for the sins of the world, for He alone is Christ, the Messiah. “But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. Then comesthe end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He (YAHSHUA) puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He (YAHSHUA) must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. For “He (the God and Father of YAHSHUA) has put all things under His (YAHSHUA’S) feet.” But when He says “all things are put under Him,” it is evident that He (ABBA, the Father)who put all things under Him is excepted. Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all” (1 Corinthians 15:20-28). “The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand” (John 3:35). This is important. The Son is the one in total control to implement all things according to the will of the Father until all things are fulfilled. The Father has nothing to do with sin, and therefore, the Son alone is dealing with sinners, and the kingdom of darkness. Thus, the Son of God, YAH, is the Shema of Israel, and His companions, therefore, as recording in Deuteronomy 6:4, “Hear, O Israel: ‘The Lord our God, the Lord is one!’” Behold, YAH is one Lord, one God to the glory of His God and Father.
When we read Isaiah 44:6-8, we need to ask, who is speaking, the Father or the Son? We read with this in mind: There Is No Other God. “Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his (Israel’s) Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God. And who can proclaim as I do? Then let him declare it and set it in order for Me, since I appointed the ancient people. And the things that are coming and shall come, let them show these to them. Do not fear, nor be afraid, have I not told you from that time, and declared it? You are My witnesses. Is there a God besides Me? Indeed there is no other Rock; I know not one.’” The only one who is First and Last is Christ, “the Son of Man” (Revelation 1:9-13). The only Redeemer of Israel is Christ, the Messiah, and the only Rock is Christ, the Son of God. The apostle Paul testified to this very thing to Israel: “Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ” (1 Corinthians 10:1-4).
We, the Nazarean Ministry of YAHSHUA, testify to the name YAHSHUA, the very revealed name of the Savior, and the only name by which we must be saved. Anyone who denies the revealed name of the Savior is in jeopardy. Clearly the Savior does not want anyone to deny His revealed name, for those who do not deny His name, He is saying to that one, “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name” (Revelation 3:8). There is only one true vocalization for the true and only revealed name of salvation, the very name YAHSHUA!
Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid;
‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song;
He also has become my salvation’” (Isaiah 12:2 NKJV).
“And it shall come to passThat whoever calls on the name of the Lord
Shall be saved.
For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance,
As the Lord has said,
Among the remnant whom the Lord calls” (Joel 2:32).
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).
In YAHSHUA’S Name, Amen.
Halleluyah, Praise YAH, Praise YAHSHUA!
